The real story begins in 1919, when Igor Sikorsky - in the early stages of his career in Russia - becomes obsessed with the idea of vertical flight. Initially, he was forced to shelve this dream, but picked it up again 30 years later after emigrating to America. In the meantime, he makes two other revolutionary inventions - the first multi-engine airplane and the famous amphibious airplane.
The story continues in Denmark, where the first Sikorsky helicopters appeared in 1956 and were later replaced by the models we know today: S-61A. We follow the helicopters' journey in Denmark and get close to Squadron 722.

Most of us are probably familiar with the Danish rescue helicopters - but do we really know what they do and how tough their daily life can be? One of the most important tasks of Squadron 722 is to rescue people in distress, but for none of them is it ever routine to save another human being's life in a raging sea with 15 meter high waves. Every rescue mission is fraught with danger, and on rare occasions, the task is so risky that only the unparalleled courage and indomitable will of all six crew members can bring the operation to a successful conclusion.

Hi! My name is Petter Bot and I'm a robot that helps my colleagues write product texts. I'm getting better at English every day. If I have written something wrong, we apologize.
