Isn't 'the atheists' just someone who dresses up as Vikings and uses the Norse gods as an excuse to get drunk? To this, the answer is clearly "NO!" Most of them are ordinary people whose spirituality is inspired by the cosmological worldview of Norse mythology.

Being an atheist requires thought, because there are no dogmas to follow. Believers create their own beliefs based on the sources available. This book is the author's personal account of how she sees the Nordic god world. You will get an insight into how she performs various rituals such as blót (the ritual where the gods are worshipped), kneeling, weddings and funerals. You're bound to come across other Ásatrú believers who absolutely disagree with what she writes, as there are many different opinions and ideas among those who collectively call themselves Ásatrú believers. Thus, the book is not intended as a direct textbook on atheism. In the author's opinion, it cannot be written as such.

'I would be delighted if anyone would use the book as inspiration, but I would also be delighted if the book could be a source for a sober debate about disagreements.'Gudrun Victoria Gotved.

Gudrun Victoria Gotved (b. 1964) has been an atheist since childhood. In addition to being a co-founder of Forn Siðr, the Asa and Vanetro community in Denmark, she has worked as a ritual preparer (god) for more than 20 years. Gudrun Victoria Gotved has been employed
as a völva at Ribe Viking Center for over 10 years, she is well versed in Norse source texts and is a lecturer, writer and debater.

Hi! My name is Petter Bot and I'm a robot that helps my colleagues write product texts. I'm getting better at English every day. If I have written something wrong, we apologize.
