Early detection and intervention has entered the everyday life of daycare centers as an integral part of the educator's work. The many tasks involved in spotting children in distress raise a number of dilemmas in pedagogical practice. This applies, for example, to the relationship of trust with parents and, not least, when a lack of well-being is so significant that it requires notification to the social services. This book focuses on detection and notification in daycare facilities in relation to children who are not thriving. This work involves frameworks, legislation and guidelines, but also concrete detection work, risk assessments and collaboration with parents and professionals on the way to the notification and the establishment of the further process. The book helps to convey knowledge about all the many facets of this path. Detection and notification in daycare is aimed at students in the pedagogical professional education program specializing in daycare as well as all educators in the field of daycare. The authors are employed at universities and university colleges or are professionals who work in various ways with children and parents in day care.
