Death is one of the things people think about the most - but do the least about. Considering how much death and suffering we are bombarded with on a daily basis through the media, it's impossible not to relate to death. Unless you have a petrified heart, it also hurts every time another famine hits Africa, a cat is run over on the road, drought hits poor areas or another senseless war begins. But such impressions don't make it easy to have a natural relationship with death. The same is true of the way modern Westerners die, because almost all death processes take place under medical care in a hospital or similar setting. If you go back 200 years, every child would sooner or later see great-grandparents or grandparents on their deathbed, and presumably the subject has not been surrounded by silence and unnaturalness to the same extent. With death and destruction in the media, you would think that you would have no influence on the inner psychological and energetic processes that take place when death occurs. But that's not true! And that's what this book is all about: the ability to influence the quality of your own death process. This book contains a series of meditations ranging from the beginner level, where the reader needs no special prerequisites, to very advanced methods aimed at some of the deepest secrets of consciousness. With meditation, as with any other form of training, if you want to reach the level where the deep or advanced teachings take place, you need a teacher who can provide adequate instruction. The book is inspired by Buddhist classics. Ole Stjernholm is a psychologist with his own practice in Central Jutland and Martin Ehrensvärd teaches at the university, theology and Semitic languages in Copenhagen.
