In this book, psychologist and specialist in clinical child psychology Rikke Yde Tordrup invites foster parents into her supervision room and goes through the challenges and dilemmas she most often encounters when it comes to foster families.
She goes through attachment theory and developmental psychology in a simple and accessible way, after which she puts the theory into practice.
Her starting point is 12 fictional children aged 0-20 years, which she has constructed based on her countless encounters with children in care. In this way, she gets around the classic issues in a relevant way that allows foster parents and professionals to identify with both child and parents.
