In Forensic Architecture, Eyal Weizman takes readers from drone strikes in Afghanistan to detention camps in Syria, and from bombings in Gaza to the mountains of Guatemala. With detailed documentation, the book presents an aesthetically and visually challenging investigative practice that intervenes directly in reality. Eyal Weizman's Forensic Architecture research group works to bring those responsible for human rights abuses to account. By virtually reconstructing crime scenes, bombed buildings and impoverished landscapes, the group creates a framework for new insights and testimonies.
Eyal Weizman (b. 1970) is a British-Israeli architect and professor at Goldsmiths, University of London. Forensic Architecture has contributed evidence to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch and exhibited his models and investigations at Tate Britain, Louisiana and documenta.
