The middle-class and well-bred girl Helene starts at the University of Copenhagen at the beginning of World War II. She makes new friends and eventually joins a resistance group. At first, it's mostly about handing out illegal leaflets, but then things take a much more dangerous turn with dramatic consequences. Helene becomes a courier and later the group's sharpshooter. And what her friends in the resistance group don't realize is that she finds herself in a major dilemma. The man she has fallen in love with has close ties to the German occupying forces. Can she keep it hidden? And should she follow her heart or be loyal to the group?
