History and Lifeworld is aimed at anyone with an interest in education, such as teachers, student teachers and parents of primary school children. The book deals with primary school in general. There are suggestions for innovative ways to organize teaching. The subject of history is used as a focal point for discussion. The author has involved a number of his teacher training students in an interview study of teachers, and on this basis, the book identifies a number of challenges for primary schools. It suggests that children's digital experiences should be incorporated into teaching to a much greater extent, and shows how this enables democratic education and how it can make school a pleasant and meaningful place to be. The author's starting point is that we live in the late modern age, where children cannot necessarily use experiences from earlier times to solve new problems and challenges. Children must learn to live without the certainty that what they set out to do will succeed. They need to develop creativity, imagination and inner drive, and they need to be innovative. This starting point is at the heart of the discussions and proposals presented in this book.
