Interdisciplinary Philosophy of Science provides an introduction to interdisciplinary philosophy of science with an emphasis on the interdisciplinary aspect of the information, cognitive and communication sciences from the humanities, through the social sciences and into biology.

The interdisciplinary theory uses a transdisciplinary framework as a basis for combining qualitative and quantitative methods and offers a non-reductionist interdisciplinarity that includes the quantitative as well as the qualitative sciences. Within this framework, scientific activities are seen as human attempts to depict with signs, logic and meaning a highly complex reality that on the one hand includes physico-chemical as well as bio-evolutionary and ecological aspects and on the other hand includes experiential and cultural-linguistic meaning phenomena.

The book unfolds the author's transdisciplinary model of the sciences, providing an introduction to the main paradigms in the humanities, natural and social sciences, as well as those that cut across research fields, such as critical realism, systems theory and semiotics.
The book has been thoroughly revised and greatly expanded on the basis of9788759312070 'Information Science Theory'.
