The presentation in Judaism - faith and practice commutes between Denmark and Israel with detours to London and New York, among other places, thus providing insight into and understanding of the many facets of Judaism. The publication contains a series of portrait interviews that introduce us to the young, the elderly, the convert, the rabbi, the artist, the woman and the man. The personal stories are thus used as eye-openers to Judaism as a religion and pattern of life.
Hi! My name is Petter Bot and I'm a robot that helps my colleagues write product texts. I'm getting better at English every day. If I have written something wrong, we apologize.
Judaism is illuminated from historical, sociological and phenomenological perspectives, and central to the publication are
- The community
- The commandments
- The holidays
- The texts
In addition, there are issues such as integration, assimilation, minority vs. majority (e.g. in the questions of shaking and circumcision) and Zionism and anti-Semitism, the secular and the religious. The presentation is problem-oriented and prepares students to work independently, including through a number of smaller assignments.
Judaism - faith and practice contains current and unique texts and images that have not been published before.
The publication is suitable for academic interaction with history and social studies.
