This is the 4th edition of the annotated law on freight agreements. The structure has been slightly changed compared to the previous editions of the commentary, making it easier to use as a reference work.

Since the last edition of the commentary, Denmark has acceded to an additional protocol to the CMR Convention on electronic consignment notes and communication. The additional protocol has been incorporated into the CMR Act, which is why this legal commentary contains completely new comments on electronic consignment notes and communication.

The presentation will primarily aim to explain applicable Danish law, but will, as in previous editions, include both foreign court decisions and references to foreign authors. The review of foreign case law is not exhaustive, but is based on a review of judgments published primarily in European Transport Law, Nordic Judgments in Maritime Law and case law from foreign legal literature.The case law review was completed at the end of April 2017, noting that the latest edition of Nordic Judgments in Maritime Affairs is from 2013.
