"Noah's Ark" is a different kind of animal book - about the animals in the city and the animals of the city - and it evokes the joy of recognition and offers surprising new discoveries, even for seasoned Copenhageners. The book celebrates the myriad of man-made animals that enrich the city, and it can turn your and your child's walk into an exciting city safari.

Look up. Look down...
The animals are everywhere and in all sizes and materials. There are large sculptures of horses and elephants, painted friezes of dragonflies, fish and toads, good-natured dogs carved in stone, brass handles shaped like walruses, colorful roosters in stained glass, and both earthy beehives in stone and a single glowing one with buzzing bees high above the street. There are beautiful crows, elegant swans, whimsical owls, fast hares, lovely cats, and many, many more.
There are so many animals in "Noah's Ark". And there are more out there :-)

Animals in poems, rhymes and rhymes, proverbs and music are not forgotten, and Mikkel Stelvig from the Zoo has contributed with the chapters' fact boxes about (and pictures of) the living animals.

NOAH's ARK would like to encourage everyone to take off their blinders, prick up their ears and enjoy!

The book has a good table of contents and a road index at the back of the book. Both make it easy to find your way around - both in the city - but also when you want to find out where in the city the animals are hiding.

'...a book that inevitably puts you in a good mood... It has completely opened my eyes to a different experience of Copenhagen' (Anette K. Nielsen, Studievært, Danmarks Radio, P1 Faglitteratur)

Hardcover, format: approx. 22,5 x 23,5 cm. The book is 384 pages with more than 1400 illustrations.

Bonnie Mürsch is the former chairman of the Association for the Beautification of the Capital.
