WHERE LITERATURE FINDS ITS PLACE - MODERN TIMES 1900-2010 is the third and final volume in Anne-Marie Mai's great literary history. Here, Anne-Marie Mai takes the reader up into towers, down into basements, around city districts and into libraries, castles, churches, schools, museums, monasteries and ruins to tell the history of Danish literature through the places where literature has been written, collected, read, used and canonized. In volume 1, covering the years 1000-1800, the central places of the story were the cathedral, the manor house, the court and the academy. In volume 2, which covers the period from 1800 to 1900, it was the vicarage and the drawing room. Volume 3 is about 20th century literature. Here, the magazine house, the metropolis and the internet are the literary sites around which the narrative winds. Through these places, the reader gains access to Danish literary history and insights into European and American literature. HVOR LITTERATUREN FINDER STEDDER STED is equipped with introductions to the different eras and periods.
